In Japan, being “on time” actually means arriving a few minutes earlier than the scheduled time. This is a cultural habit often called **”Gofun-mae Koudou”** (5-minute rule). If an interview or a meeting starts at 9:00, most Japanese people will be ready and waiting by 8:55.
日本では、「時間に間に合う」ということは、実は予定の時間よりも数分早く到着することを意味します。これは、**「5分前行動（ごふんまえこうどう）」**と呼ばれる文化的な習慣です。もし面接や会議が9時に始まるなら、ほとんどの日本人は8時55分には準備を整えて待っています。
